My experience is in teaching English as a foreign language in Italy for 25 years, in a very wide variety of contexts, both as a freelancer and under contract. I have also had 3 years as a PA at an Italian university where my main task was to proofread science articles.
Greatest achievement- to my mind, the courage to leave the life I had built behind and start over again. Unending passion- books. Now feels like there's one growing inside me.

I am a creative and innovative language professional. Teaching is my first love and for the last 10+ years I have taught international Foundation students progressing to UK universities. Before that I was a visiting lecturer at City University's Language Studies Department (University of London). I have also tutored at the University of Westminster. Over recent years, I have worked on several translation projects including museum catalogs and coffee table books from both French and Italian into English.

In 2017, I helped to establish an NGO LaPlace with EALTA which is designed to facilitate the transition of displaced people into higher education. I am responsible for test writing.

I am a member of a CEFR special interest group established by EALTA- the European Association of Language Testing and Assessment (The European Council), and have presented for the last 4 concurrent years at their annual conference. My main area of interest is Intercultural Competence for language learners and this year I have co-ordinated a project group to assist with a European Council- led initiative to update the CEFR chapters for mediation and phonology. This project is organised by Dr Brian North, an author of the CEFR and our contributing update work was conducted by my team in London.

I have attended universities in both France and Italy as a visiting student, the University of Bergamo and the University of Nice. I have also worked as an English Language Teacher in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
